I was working on a session in Sonar 4 PE, only two tracks, and I think 6 effects plugins. Sonar suddenly just closed down. No warning, nothing weird going on at all before the crash. Has this happened to any of you? I guess I better start saving my sessions pretty frequently. I would hate to have this happen during an important session.

I started an autosave every 2 min, and since then, it rarely crashes... :D

sounds like a good idea.....but what if I'm just playing around with some eq or effects parameters and I'm not sure if I want to save those settings yet? will auto save automatically save those changes to my original project file?

I just save often (but not 'auto). But just as important is a save-as' to a second location at important stop points.

There's a bug in Sonar 4 that sometimes will corrupt .cwp files if a session or your computer crashes. There's plently of info concerning it over at the cakewalk forum.

I was affected by this bug and lost a really big session even though I was auto saving. The real key, as mixsit suggested, is to "Save As" a new .cwp file.

Good luck.

yea, I guess using "save as" often is the way to go. does'nt it seem rediculous that such an expensive piece of software has such a big bug?
