Sonar 2 and SF6 problem

greets!
here´s the problem: Sound Forge shows nicely in Sonar "Tools" and it´s
possible to open/edit/save one sample at time and all works well, but...

everytime i try to open two or more clips with SF at the same time, modify them and close SF ---> returning to Sonar, it doesn´t ask for updating the files?? what´s that about? only one edit in SF at time?
(in the old Pro9 it was possible to edit as many as you like)

has anyone else experienced this and maybe figured this out?

Hmmmm, it's not a new story My case, it happens also on duo Sonar 3.1.1 PE and Adobe Audition (formerly CoolEdit Pro). Edit two different audio clips, then nothing will ever get back to Sonar. I also found same problem if you change bit depth or sample rate in external editor, save and close the audio clip, Sonar won't recall it. I'm not sure about where the problem is. Cake support said kindly "blame"... you know... whatever external editor in your Tools menu...

Anyone has something to say?

Now, why would you do that in the first place?


I just checked, and yepp: Editing multiple files don't work here either... Guess we have to live with it. But I don't see the big problem as I don't do too much editing in SoundForge from Sonar.

Client of mine doing short movie project where he recorded the audio ambience live at 16/44.1. He gave me the mpg file and I do music background. He also wants me to clean audio while necessary. So I fire up Sonar and import the mpg file. Yes, the audio is 16/44.1. When I feel necessary to edit some spots, I split the clip, export to Adobe audition, which automaticaly converts all edited file to 32 bit (okay, I don't realy care if it's faked 32 bit, it goes that way anyway... ). Do necessary editing, save and close the wave (Now it's 32 bit!). Back to Sonar... Oops... it doesn't recall the file anymore... Not even giving me a hints on what went wrong. I had to figure it out myself for hours...

I think it will be good if Cakewalk can work on this issue, at least Sonar should generate pop-up WHY the file cannot be re-loaded after edited, and sure it would be better if Sonar offers an option for us to take...

Are you seriously saying that Audition automaticly converts it to 32 bit and there isn't a setting controlling that?!?!?

That has to be the dumbest program on this side of X-mas...

Off course there is... (not @my.daw right now ) I switched it off right away after I found the problem... it was just not very convenience taking hours to figure out what went wrong... All I meant to say is it would be great if Sonar reports wether the audio bitrate / sample rate was changed outside the application rather than just standing there and staring at me clueless...
