Sonar 2.0 help

ive been trying to figure out this software. Im stuck on one thing: ive recorded a short guitar thing on Track 1. Now, i go to Track 2 and ARM it--then hit record. I can listen to Track 1 and play along with it--and it should be Recording on TR. 2. BUT, when i play it back it seems like track1 got re-recorded onto track 2, i cant hear anything i just played on trak 2.

What am i doing wrong?

What input is track 2 set to?

i believe the same input as track 1

What sound card do you have?

Does the sound card have a 'What U Hear" option?

If so, you need to change the input to the specific one you are using, such as line in.

Asound als2000 --or als4000 , i dont remember--its a cheapo.
