I'm not so much a newbie to recording but heres a question thats been weighing on my mind.

I currently run Logic 8 express as my DAW for recording and sometimes I tend to me in love with the presets and EQ's but I'd prefer to mix the songs upstairs(where I cant track) on my PC with reaper.

I guess my question is how do people record the tracks on a certain software(logic) and than transfer the tracks into another program(reaper, cubase)?

I dont know if Id actually do it, Id just love to know how its done.

thanks.

Bounce the tracks down as .wav files, then simply import them into Reaper (or vice versa)

To add.. bounce all the small clips that make up a track to one clip, and add bounced time to the begining of any track if needed to make sure all of the full track clips begin at the same start time. (Then they all line up in their correct relative positions anywhere they go.

Sounds like something I'd want to do, how do you would i go about adding 'bounced time'?

I know that the easiest way would to just record all tracks starting at zero so there all the same length anyway, and for the minimal amount of tracks I use it'd be simple.

thanks for the answers, Im open to any different ideas.

In Sonar the range of where 'bounce to tracks' or exports' start and end are selected on the time line. If a clip didn't begin a 'zero (or your chosen start point) you'd just extend the selection earlier to include it.

Then there's 'Broadcast Wave files/Open Media Framework with time stamps. Haven't tried that here.

i know almost exactly what your talking about there with the bounced time. thanks.
