note: this song has been through so many A/D D/A conversions, there's been some loss. But you'll get the idea.

Although I don't particularly like this kind of music I thought from a recording point of view it was pretty good - perhaps the vocals could come up just a touch - I found myself having to really concentrate to what was being sung - usually a sign for me that the vocals are tad quiet.

From a musical point of view I thought it was a very well crafted song and each musicians performance sounded pretty good.

What role did you have in all this ametth?
 
this is my band. I play guitar, sing, and keyboard. and I recorded this. it's a really quick demo just to get some more shows.

xdrive hates me....got 32 seconds of it first time, then 21 seconds...and it didn't time out...will try again tomorrow.....gibs
 
Overall you did a very good job of rendering the overall mood of the song. The vocals could maybe use more ambience (more reverb?) to sit more in the 3D image of the mix.
The bass guitar is very audible, but not sure yet if it's a good thing or a bad thing. Perhaps just cutting the frequency that might mask other instruments (it's very present).
 
You suck. Your stuff always sounds so damn good to me. In fact I was just listening to that cover of Love Song you posted a while back. 90% perfect.

I really dug this tune also. Not really my gig but I really enjoyed the mood. Excellent use of special effects. Very creative.

I kind of liked having the vocals back like that. I'm not sure I really want to hear the words...the quiet vocals really add to the feel.

I really like that vibrato guitar!...has a erie moody feeling to it. I'm playing it on PS8's, everything sounds quite clear. I do agree about the vocals, they could be up front a little more, not so much volume but maybe some EQ to move 'um up abit? I really like the song...keep up the great work!

ametth, really enjoyed your tune man. the mood it set's brings back alot of very good memories and "to me" when music makes you feel something (like this song does) thats what its all about! keep-em coming!

thanks everyone for the compliments and critisism. But I'm wondering what vocals you were talking about?

This song is more of my bands experimental (if you can call it that) side. Most of our songs are just rock I guess. I'll be posting some more.

So what's the deal? I still can't get more than 21 seconds of this thing, yet I can download anywhere else (even xdrive) some huge files....dammit...gibs
 
It sounds great man! As I said in a post mistakenly posted in Fishmed's forum...it reminds me of Mazzy Star. It's real moody. I like the backmasked drums at the beginning. Great job!
 
Not exactly my cup of tea but I enjoyed it. It seems you were able to put across the
feel you intended. Keep up the good work.
