I think the snare and vocals could use some presence. That's literally it. Everything else really sits well with me. Great job!

Thanks guys - y'all are awesome. We're trying to master this ourselves, and are running into program compression issues. I'll post up a "corrected" mix for your approval a little later.

Thanks again!!

I'm late to the party, but just wanted to say that I love it...this is a great tune that showcases strong musicianship and talent that's still very catchy and listenable. The 7/4 time in the verse is really cool. I didn't mind the kick but I can hear what others are talking about there, so changing that might make the overall mix even better. Really great stuff!

Best,

Dave

As a big prog fan, I'm a sucker for anything in 7...this is a great song by a great band and first of all thanks for letting me listen to this.

The vocals to me are a little buried in the verse, more noticable in the chorus when the distorted rhythm guitars kick in but then perfect in the bridge. I'm a guitar player and that huge stereo split crunch is ecstasy but it's hard to put it in a mix without overwhelming things. Especially when there are vocal harmonies, I want to hear the voice. When you're doing more intricate lines and such, that's when I want the guitar to rule the mix.

Everyone already hit the drum stuff.

Again, ace work.

ed. You gotta get in to get out.

Just for grins, I pulled this into Sonar and worked with opening up the middle of the soundfield a bit then added a tape simulation plug and bam, the whole piece seemed to swell and the guitars really seemed to shine. The histograph of the soundfield shows that this is a pretty narrow mix, so maybe opening it up a hair will give the inner voices like the toms some room to breath.

Do you mean stereo field, or is this something I would accomplish with a multiband compressor?

mindblowing. i would be way out of my league to comment on this mix. great lyrics too.

Definitely better than your last tune. Vocals had that nice, tight harmonics that I love.

I liked it a lot... the voice in the verse reminded me of a combination of Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Eve 6, and then you had this totally different sound in the Chorus. Very interesting composition... impressive to me.

As for mixing, I really liked the mix for the most part. The kick drum just doesn't sound good to me though... not in the sense of badly mixed, just not a good sounding kick. I would maybe replace it with a good sample, but either way... it's not a really extreme issue. I just don't hear any of the "hollowness" of the drum that I like. Mostly though, I really liked that... nice song, nice production, nice mix. I liked the quiet vocals in the verses.

I would add more eqing to the toms too... I read someone else say that. Maybe some sizzle to the snare, but those are just taste issues really.

Beautifully done and memorable song. Every element is rich and clear. Arrangement is creative, well balanced.

Awesome song, and arrangement. You guys make every second important. No filler. I also think the kik can come down a teenage-c*nt hair. Besides that, everything's crystal clear and awesome.

Actually, C ... I'd come down WAY more than the aforementioned hair on the kick. :)

It's the dominant element in the mix when it really should be far more unnoticed ... there doing it's kick thing, but not so much that you have to hear everything else around it.

Terrific tune -- well arranged and my wife listening in the background commented on how much she like the harmonies.

Man, I loved that...don't even feel nearly qualified to offer critique....you guys are great....

I've listened to this like 10 times now, and it still cracks me up. Awesome!

I think the only thing I've listened to more on here is one of Rami's tunes(I forget the name). You guys should collab. on something

Sorry Rami:D I spend a lot of time on your site, but never really pay attention to song titles.

Wow. great job! I like the 70's rock sound it has.

I'll be saving this on my PC. Thanks!

Hey Superdupercreep!

Nice tune .................. actually, I haven't listened to it yet but every other thing I've ever heard of your was great so I'm just gonna call this great in advance.
