For all of you who know that gunk does accumulate on 1/4 plugs and the insides of where 1/4 inch plugs go, here is a neat little cleaning tool that utilizes interesting technology.

Name: Conductool by Synersonix

Purpose: Cleans 1/4 inch plugs and 1/4 inserts
[they also make a unit to clean RCA and XLR plugs]

Cost: 19.95 @ Musician's Friend [haven't seen it in any other catalogs yet.]

Info: "Insert the mono or stereo 1/4 inch tip of the cable into the small hole in the back of the CONDUCTOOL handle. Insert in/out a couple of times."

For inserts: Use the tip of the unit that resembles a 1/4 inch plug and insert and remove a couple of times.

Non-poisonous. Lasts 1/5 years depending on use. Each treatment lasts 90 days.

I just got one and it sure is easy to use and I think very beneficial for a good clear signal.

As the literature says, the tool is like a "molecular toothbrush."

Why not a cloth towel and some cleaner

Why can't you use a cloth towel and some cleaning fluid?

Yo-Yo-All:

I'm sure you could use cleaning fluid and a cloth. Or the tongue of a dog or cat.

However, none of the above have the molecular construct of easy cleaning and making for a better conductive surface for induction and production of mellifluous sounds rather than cacaphonous shrill from the depths of ambiguity.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Just swallow some WD40 and stick the plug up yer arse.

Yo Roadkillthat'sbeeninthesuntoolong:

WD40 doesn't conduct signals. If you use it, it's because you're buying oil from Bush down Texas way.

Do you still use a wire recorder?

Cheers,

PS RAT Man: You've got more class than that!
