Something a little different....

I think the 12-string sounds great. Using a HPF is de riguer for acoustics in rock ensemble, so I think your approach is sound; you're just looking to add the shimmer and not add midrange stuff to fight with the vocals or electrics.

It's a great song any way you mix it.

Thanx Super. Do you hear that the 12-string is out of tune? Because I'm with Greg on the boxiness of the 12-string, but if it's in tune, I can mix it with my electric to get the brightness mixed with the acoustic.

As box-y as this 12 string is, I high-passed it at about 160hz and carved out a lot of lows.

Man...this is really reaaly good Rami....agree with a earlier post about a Badfinger vibe...love that bass guitar man...it be groovin' ! I would be really proud if I could write/perform something like this...great job Rami!!

Thanx a lot Queep.

It's funny how the "simplest" part of a tune can give you the most problems. We're talking about a 2 chords part. It often happens that the part I'm most worried about recording ends up being easy, and the part that I thought would be the easiest.....isn't.

If that 12-string is in tune, I want to keep it and tuck it in under the electric part I'm going to re-record. I don't want to do that only to find out that it's even slightly out. My ears aren't good enough to hear "slightly" anything. :D

I'll throw it up on the mains tonight and see what shakes out.

Yeah, I'm hearing a little weirdness, most notably in the walk up going into the choruses. I hate it when guitars don't play nice.

Wow. Amazing textures.

Thanx PP.

Just an up-date, in case someone comes into the thread and wonders what all this talk about a 12-string is...I re'tracked a few of the guitar parts and re-mixed the tune as of this post.

THE STORM

P.S. For all of you drummers-turned-wanna-be guitar-players (like me), a word of advice. Don't lean the back of your palm of your picking hand on the bridge when you want to muffle notes. All it does is cause havoc to your tuning. :laughings:

Sounds great. Catchy tune, too. I've been humming this all weekend.

OMG! I loved that bass and drum lock groove in the beginning - I played it ten times over before I heard the whole song! Cool song! The guitar tones don't 'blow my dress up', but it didn't matter for me because the bass and drums were so frickin' tight and solid that I didn't need anything else. The vocals sound great! Nice ending, hehe :D
That was sweet man, it's been too long since having a dose of Rami and I almost missed it!
:D:)

Thanx a lot, Max. :)

Vocals kickin ass dude. Guitar is so fluid, love it. Great lyrics too dude. You are rockin it.

I think this one's great Rami. I listened to each version a couple of times, and I think I preferred the first version - probably just personal preference though. I liked the melody, the slightly stormy build up to the chorus and loved the bass sound.

its nothing wrong with it. it sounds good. the reverb on the voice is maybe a bit strange in the beginning (when the arrangement is more dense, it is fine). nice drums & bass.
good job.

Thanx a lot Rob. Yeah, I liked the first version, too. But, unfortunately, the adjustments I had to make could only be done by re-tracking.

I did answer the last one I got from you. You didn't get it? I responded to it the same day.

I got to get around to up-loading some tunes. I'll do it this weekend for sure.
