tried these questions in the computer/soundcard forum but got booted into here, so here goes...
Firstly, does anyone know of a good program that simulates what a sampler does? Easy to use that I can record in real time to Cubase or something else? And preferably cheap or freeware (I wish!). For some of the stuff I want to do, using Soundforge and/or a music recording package to cut and paste is too fiddly and time consuming - I'd like to be able to load it up and speed up/down etc in real-time.
Secondly, I'm after buying a midi keyboard - just a controller to plug into my PC to do the midi stuff. I've seen a few on the internet at about £100 (dunno dollars) - I think creative do one but the general consensus on the boards is that creative are duff! Anyways, any recommendations, again, cheap as poss, but I'd rather invest in something useful that will last
Cheers, Jim
