Hi,

I'm currently looking into buying some new limiting/mastering software to be used with Cubase sx3. I have a modest home studio set-up and am not under the illusion i've either the skills or equipment to professionally master anything, My goal being to add a little sparkle to my mixes and perhaps a db here and there. (I wouldn't consider sending my mixes to be professionally mastered becuase it's only my hobby, and am not looking to release anything comercially)

I currently have T-racks 2 which I find useful for some applications but not really for an overall mix as don't like the amount of colouration it seems to add.

I've downloaded a 10 day trial of Izotopes ozone which sounds alot cleaner and I like the company's open approach with the manual being a guide to mastering as much as it is a guide to product.

I'm also considering a UAD-1 project pak which i've found on offer for £159 and includes five plugins one of which the 1176se. I like the idea that i'm getting more processing power as well as more software, Does anyone have any experience of the these DSP Cards or the 1176se?

I'd be very grateful for any opinions or if anyone can recommend alternatives in a similar price range?

Cheers
John
