Mixing and Mastering.
Just to see what yous think of the soap bar pick ups on the PRS McCarty.
What do yous think of the different tones from the pickup selector?
 
Soapbars = P90's..Good stuff ,I have them in a LP Special.. I don't know the PRS ..But I'm sure its very cool sounding..Consider this a bump.. :)
 
P90's in general are described as having the clarity and sparkle of single coils and the fullness and mid-range of a humbucker. They sound great when overdriven, with a barky growl and stinging attack. I have them in my SG Classic and really enjoy it for classic rock tones. I find the clean tones a little less pleasing. To my ears they impart a sort of 'piezo-like' quality that's a bit harsh and sterile. YMMV.....

Yeah my Soapbars are really attacky and full of mids. My cleans do sound a little harsh but thats nothing I cant sort out with my GT6 EQ section. Just cut sme mids /hi mids.
 
More confirmation

My G&L ASAT (tele) has 2 soapbars, and I love em. Lots of clarity with the power to grind.
I had a PRS too (CE-24) and theyre quality is pretty high, so Im gonna say they probably sound pretty nice.

p90's are like the middle man between strat type single coils and humbuckers. very nice rockin tone through a good tube amp.
 
Ohhh they sound lovely through my Marshall tube amp.
Thats the sound I was looking for when i was shopping for a new guitar, in between the Fender and Gibson sound. Looks like i got it!
 
Ta. funny thing I left it at a gig, so I need to try and get it back now! Killer. :eek:
