This is an interesting topic.
I like to get the drums down first. I will work my way through the song and get the basic ideas in then flesh out the fills and set my breaks and so on. I find that you change the dynamics of your guitars and other instruments based on what's happening at the drums and it's hard to build up momentum when all you hear is "click, click, click". Then once that's done it's on to rhythm guitars and any keys although I don't do a whole lot of keys. Funny thing is I usually do the bass guitar part last to see where it needs to be in comparison to everything else. When I mix it starts with drums, then bass, then the rhythm parts, and finally any solo or special effects stuff.
