I think Alice was a great song writer. He had some very witty lyrics and he was already speaking out on social issues before it was "the thing" to do. Dead Babies (Child Abuse), Only Women Bleed (violence against women), Elected (the corrupt political system), From the Inside (Mental Health Issues)

He took a lot of heat for that album. A lot of people didn't like his spirituality. I thought it was a bold move. Akin to him playing electric guitar.
 
My wife destroyed Bob Dylan for me.

She has been listening to the same 30 trad/vocal jazz and old blues songs since we met 10 years ago because they're "classics". She has a Lee Dorsey CD in the car she's played so many times I want to annihilate every note of music on it. "I don't know spanish but I can sure say adio" HAHAHA!! Argh.

But yeah, the only rocker she likes is, you guessed it, Bob Dylan. Not only that but the two Dylan albums she plays over and over are Bringin' It All Back Home and Blood on the Tracks...two albums I really liked long ago, "in another life" as they say.

Long car drive.... Her: "Can you play some music??"

Me: "Um, ok...what do you want to hear?"

Her: "I don't care....anything."

Me: "ok", fiddles with iPod scowling, plays Blood on the Tracks

Her: "Ooooo! I love this album!"

Me: "I know."

Yeha, I've been curious about Toots... I think at this point I'm reaching my reggae capacity and might have to take a break mon.
