I met a guy who wants to sell me a tascam 1/2 inch 8 trk unit for the same price, $400. He is somewhat more reputable than the other guy, being a professional electrical and recording engineer for more than 40 years, not to mention an alround nice guy to boot. Don't know the model number off hand but it is the brown unit with 8 vu meters on it. I think it's a heck of a good deal.
