Hey guys, first post on this forum!

Im not that new on recording and mixing, but have been struggling to find something to incorporate in a song from some friend´s of mine who asked me to record it.
So my question is, in the metalcore scene seems to be kinda common to ear this effect, like a subdrop or something, on the snare drum, but i can´t really find anything about it, probably just being dumb but would like to know what to use to get this

Using this as an example: https://youtu.be/Yxx_JdoOGB8?t=36

Thanks in advance!

Where in that song is this effect that you're referring to?

Sounds like a thick reverse reverb with a forward reverb tail if I am understanding what it is you are wanting.

Depending on what DAW you are using there may be easy ways to accomplish this.

If you have an option to 'reverse' a track/event. Then copy the snare to another track. Place a fat reverb on it. Export that track or whatever you need to do to have the reverb tail on it. Reverse the track. Then add the same reverb to that track so that it also has the tail after.

He nailed it. It's a reverse reverb leading up to the snare, then a large hall reverb after that. But the large hall is only on that hit.
