...honestly, I have no experience with that particular mic...but if you're seriously interested in recording, the SM7 is a worthy investment...I went thru a couple dozen condenser mics (tube and otherwise) looking for that "in your face" fatness and smoothness...nothing really gave me what I was looking for without having to EQ and compress the sh*t out of the tracks...then the guy who restored a Neve 1290 mic pre for me gave me the heads-up on the SM7, and I haven't looked back since...great addition to any serious mic-closet...jeez, I feel like I'm on the Shure payroll, spouting off like this...I just really like this mic...I'm gonna stop now...that's it...I'm done...
