I think my problem is very simple. All I want to do is record output sound. All I'm using is Audacity. The problem is that the recorded sound has much more bass than the original output, so I am unable to do anything with it. I haven't always have this problem, and I don't know why it started.

I've posted my problem on other forums, but no one has helped me. They asked why I would want to record output sound. I want to record Realplayer files and video game music (eg. GTA: VC).

Can anyone help me?

all i ever had to do was set the input to "stereo mix". make sure your soundcard isn't boosting the bass to accomodate for little computer speakers or something

After you record the track(s) in Audacity go to effects, choose EQ and trim the bass, don't panic if you trim too much, Audacity has an "undo" button which undoes the last alteration. Play with it untill you get the sound you like.
