hey all,

this is a small piano thing I just did.. It's a very mellow instrumental and it's 2 minutes 47 seconds long..

It took me 4 and a half hours to do..

if you feel like checking out something mellow, I'd appreciate the ears.. :D

thanks if you bother

it's the last tune,

'goodnightmare'

Aptly Titled!!:)

This one made me wana throw on a silk smoking jacket, stoke an illegal cigar and croon to the world in my best Tom Waits meets Glen Danzig impression:D

Are you gonna be O.K.? :)

Theron.

Hey Sami..........
Its late, so Im not gonna have time to check it out tonight (dial-up connect.:( )..... but, i'll be sure to take a peek from work tommorrow.... I just had to leave a little assurance, because:
This one made me wana throw on a silk smoking jacket, stoke an illegal cigar and croon to the world in my best Tom Waits meets Glen Danzig impression
.......definitely got me interested:D :D G

Nice tune sam. This is the kind of stuff for the movies.;)I like the background stuff you have going on and the note that bends into the song at 35 seconds or so.Nice melodic piece!:)

Sam, I love your piano interludes. You did one on the beginning of dead man I liked a lot but it was too short. This is much nicer because you gave youself some room to develop the tune. And your chord progressions......man, that's the coolest thing about your tunes. They defy prediction. Everyone of them is something different than anything you ever hear. You know, you might take this one and add some enviromental sound like a rainstorm or ocean waves. I bet fingerlickin's right. Open a bottle of wine, (or better yet, cognac) and sit back and mellow out. Where;s that wine?....................

fenderlikingood - hey dude, we were having a sick thunderstorm here too! I think that's what got me started on this.. It's great to hear comments about someone listening to my tune in the dark! :D thanks for the words man...

theron - LoL! :D throw on that smoking jacket and torch that illegal cigar! I sure did while recording it! :D  Yeah I'll be O.K. :D thanks for asking! appreciate the comments as always bro!

Guernica - :D dont get your hopes up, it's nothing that special..

Kramer - thanks man.. It's funny because I have the T.V. on where I record, but it's always on mute.. Maybe I was subconciously laying down a soundtrack for what I was watching.............. the news. :(

Lt. Bob - I love wine! :D really.. I was going to add a bunch of sound effects, but I thought it might work better with minimal noises.. Maybe I should add a few.. thanks for the great comments man..:) I have never tried cognac, but I'm not dead yet! :D

Riku - :D I did think about singing to this but I dont have the nerve to sing with a piano yet.. That could go sour real fast! :D
thanks for checking it out man..

.....smoking jacket indeed. ....ah yes, a moment of crucial life decision... ....I liked it alot sami. Are all of those patches off of the new toy? I like the piano sound alot. ....taker easy:D G

Hauntingly beautiful. Expressive playing, moody arrangement. I was honestly looking for any negatives, so this wouldn't be a "nice job" post with little detail...but to me it accomplishes everything it sets out to do.
Nice job! :D

Hi SamSab.

As always, you did a solid job of playing, recording, and production.

While I would say that this certainly not a bad song, it's definitely not my favorite from you. Sorry. You had a nice base track with the piano. On top of that you added several other effects. To suit my taste - I thought those effects should be more involed. In other words, I would have liked the supplemental parts to be doing more intricate things. They mostly played and held long notes.

Now having said that, the changeup at 1:40 helps. Just not enough in my opinion.

Maybe it's just a style thing. Go flame me everybody. :D

Guernica - hey man, yeah all of those were off the new board BUT the piano sound is the same sound you can get on the JV 10-10 for about 1/3 of the price.. I ran all the sounds through a BBE Sonic Maximizer.. thanks for checkin it out bro! :D

mkg - thanks man.. I'm glad to hear you say that! :D

Triple M - blow me!

:D
Just kidding!!!! :D I totally hear what your saying man, and I wouldnt expect this to be anyones favorite anything.. I dont expect the new songs to be better, I just hope they start to sound better.. As far as the writing goes, this was like a lullaby... Something to fall asleep to.. that's why I didnt get crazy with it.. Judging by the sound of your boredom, I did my job of putting you to sleep! :D thanks man! Dont be afraid to tell me what you hate about my tunes.. :) I am happy that people check them out at all! A good mix is all I'm shooting for.. I will saturate the next song with solos.. :)

actually, very convincing strings (with the pitchbend exception)...or at least I like the sound of 'em, and the piano sound (from your Alesis?..or 1010?) is great too.

An entire CD worth of this stuff would be very nice. You'd be the new[heavy metal] mood man, that we all knew back before when....

You've got a tasty knack for melodies. I miss the ebow and whammy:( actually, I can wait to hear em in another song. This was nice. I'm not going to get too detailed in this one, and just say, "I enjoyed this one" ...that's enough ...eh?

This is good emotional music. I found myself feeling things, vague sometimes, from the past, other times definite things. A sense of loss and a sense of reflection. It moved me. I almost imagined what the lyrics might be if there were any. Good stuff!

Crawdad's evil twin liked it too!

Lovin' the vibe and mood of this one... Nice as it is. Although...
A Jaco-style fretless bass melody laying on top would tie the piece together very nicely. All in all, great chordings and sounds; you're repertoire is becoming quite diverse! ...And I'm becoming a fan.:D

mixmkr - :D Let me say what you didnt feel like saying... boooring, could have used more to keep it interesting.. The piano got repetitive repetitive...It was O.K. but nothing to write home about.. *yawn* :D thanks for checkin it out mix.. I remember the good ol days when you were the first to comment on my tunes and tell me what you didnt like.. I would remove the tune and make the revisions.. Except the song when you said, "this song really sucks Sab!" :D that song was sent to the crematorium..

crawdad - you are one of the few people who got the exact feeling out of it that was put into it... thank you

caretaker9 - :D thanks man! I appreciate the listen..

Talk about a diverse repertoire. Are you the same guy that does all the Satriani whammy-hammer stuff? Or the headbanging heavy vocals? I know there's at least two of you. How many more musical personalities you got going on in there? How does everybody get a turn without getting pissed off?

Great piece. Mood music fer sure.

Oooo....Very Nice tune. And the greatest compliment I can give you is that my gf walked in the room and said 'ooo thats nice' and she doesnt like much of the music I've downloaded off here...(but then she likes Michael Bolton.....)

Have to say, I had it playing continuously whilst copying a few CD's.....very mellow, very 'sunday afternoon'......

GJ dude...

Damn!
I wanna hear this song, but it says (at nowhere radio) that I have to be a member to D/L it. Why is that??
