I have a pair of Josephson C42s and I think they are fantastic. They are the clearest, truest, and most versatile small condensers I have ever heard. I had 1 sm81 awhile back and while it was a decent mic for the price, it couldn't compare with the C42. I've used this mic on drums, acoustic guitar, flute, small string orchestra, and 1 once, because I didn't have anything else at the time vocals!! They shined on everything, especially the string orchestra. You could hear each person playing clearly and they captured a huge full response. Now the vocals were a little iffy but considering its a small condenser they faired well.
