Hello All,
I did a search and didn't find anything, so I thought i'd post a new topic.

I'm in the market for a 1U rackmount amplifier, for use in a little home studio. I have no need for huge power output (blow the walls down), just want something small and nice to run my equipment on.
So far i've come up with 3 options:

ART SLA1
Carvin DCM 150
Marshall Valvestate 8008

And i'd like to keep it below 200 bucks. Does anyone have any opionions to add about those three amps, or suggest any other ones?

Much Thanks,
Gizmo

Hello,
Thank you for your reply, but I was interested in a small 1U (one rack space) formfactor amp. It looks like the Hafler is a 2U (2 rack space amp).

Anyone else have opionions?

Thanks

No one has any thoughts at all?
Must be a buisy day at work...

I think Carvin makes (or made) a 1U reference amp but, I don't know that I'd recommend it. A 1U amp is a difficult thing to find. I don't see them much if at all. Just get a bigger rack and buy a 2U. You didn't want to hear that though, did you. :)

I would go with the Carvin DCM 150. I have had one before and did not have any problems with it.

Seeing the Marshall on the list I'm wondering exactly what you're wanting to do.

If you want to power some passive studio monitors, then the Hafler TA1600 is the best recommendation thus far.

If you want a rackmount guitar amp, then maybe the Marshall should be considered.
