I was using some 58's to do some live stuff and I was trying to balance two mics recording stereo (don't ask why I was using two 58's to record, longer story) and I noticed something. First off let me say that I HATE MIC SWITCHES!!!! Any guy who has done a lot of live situations knows that they suck, only one guy needs to be in control. And from what I have just realized, the 58 with a switch has a approx 10db loss than the one without. I noticed this when I was trying to balance. Good to know huh? I traded the swtich one out for a more loved and nicer looking non-switch one. Anyway, just thought I'd pass along this info that I have discovered. Most of you guru's probly already knew this though, so sorry for wasting your time.
By the by, why do I have some 58's with switches you might ask, well, sometime free mics with switches are still free.
