Hey! Sorry for the inconvenience. If anyone has an example of solo acoustic guitar recorded with a single SM57 on hand, if they could post it here, as I'm not sure yet if I want it. Just want a quick look into how it will sound!

Thanks a lot to anyone who can help!

Any particular style of playing? I'm mostly a chord strummer on my two steel-string, 6-string guitars. I could give you an example of that through the SM57 that I have.

Cheers, that'd be great. And chord strumming is perfect :)

Thanks a lot mate!! :D

OK, here ya go. A 192 .mp3 produced from a 16/44 original. Martin D-18 in front of the SM 57, through a Presonus preamp. No effects, no correction. Just brought it up to volume. Go to the web address below:

Sounds like noise reduction was applied, but I guess that could just be how the mic responds to an acoustic.

Noise reduction.... well I did lower the volume during the first 2 seconds of the track. The part before the guitar starts. The part that is supposed to be quiet. I did reduce noise there, yes. And, again, at the end, after the guitar stops, I applied a fade-out and then lowered the volume there, too. But, during the actual guitar part, there is no noise reduction. There is no anything. Hey Creep, did the track help you with any decisions?

Wasn't saying there was anything wrong with it, just wondering if what I was hearing at the beginning/end was noise reduction or how the mic sounds.

Mic was about 18-20 inches in front of guitar, aligned in front of, and about 12-14 inches above the neck/body joint. Mic pointing downward angled toward upper bout of guitar.
