first I have a dumb question,

The pickups in my guitar are stock, I want to replace them with something better. But when you but pickups, does that come with the tone and volume pots and all that other stuff also or just the pick-up???

Experimentally and versatile suited

Other than here, you can try the Gretsch Discussion Page, Fender Discussion Page and the Les Paul Forum.

Dimarzio evolutions sound good to me, I have two of them on my ibanez, very nice for progressive stuff.

Pickups come as pickups. The pots (volume and tone), switches and the controls, the knobs, wiring etc. come seperately. You will be able to use the 'harness' (all the wiring, pots and knobs etc.) that is already in place if you are doing direct replacement. If you want to change the number or type of pickup (eg a single coil to a humbucker) you may need to change some of the 'harness'.

All three of the above makers will provide you with good pickups. It depends on what you want them to do and what kind of guitar are you going to put them in.

What kind of guitar are they going in?
