single coil pick ups

There is always a little buzz in the headphones when using the less expensive acoustic guitar pick ups single coil.
If you touch the Interface you usually reduce it. Is it worth clamping an insulated piece of Romex onto the Interface chassis and tying it to a ground wire external tab hooked to an extension cord with a 3 prong?

The guitar needs a bridge ground.
