ap, most people have a comfortable (untrained) range of about an octave
and a half. A reasonable goal for most people would be to increase that
to two octaves (or close to that). A good minimum for a male opera singer
would be two octaves and one note so that if they're not feeling well
they have some "cushion", especially on the high notes.
Many pop/ rock singers sing within an octave and a half of range.
Please note that I am not counting falsetto as part of the ranges here.
It's better to learn how to develop a vocal "mix" on your high notes.
Again, for "most people" around two years of competent instruction
should provide you with a good basic framework. The amount of time
it takes to increase range is totally individual-the good news is that,
assuming you have talent, it will come!
