Hello all. I'm hoping someone here will be able to give me some advice. I would like to record on cd all of the songs I used to sing to my daughter at bedtime (she is not living with me at the moment). A friend I know had a digital recorder that he was going to let me use, but he is out of town now. Her birthday is coming up soon, so I'd like to be able to get this done this week. I was hoping that I'd be able to rent the equipment, but haven't had any luck thus far finding anyone who rents recorders. Does anyone know what the price range is for a one time session at a recording studio? Or would they laugh at me and throw me out? Do they even rent these things? Am I dumb to try to get it on cd, should I just do this on tape? If I did it on tape now, would it be hard to convert to cd later?
I don't need anything fancy here...no mixing or music added. I'm going for the au-natural because that's what she's used to hearing...my imperfect voice making little mistakes but just singing on through. I would rather do this at home with rented equipment because I'd be more comfortable and probably sound more natural. Any advice given would be greatly appreciated.
Rock on!
