Hey guys, i'm new to the forum so go easy ;) though I have read a large amount of past posts.

My question:
Which of these mics that I have would be most suited to each use for a drum kit? (I don't wanna go out and buy any soon so thats not an option im afraid!)

  • Sennheiser E604 x2
  • Vocopro mark12 x2
  • AKG D69s
  • AKG D330BT
  • Sanyo MP303

Because I have a pair of the sennheisers or the vocopros, i'd like to use them as overheads in an XY pair (I don't have any condensors atm :() though at the same time, I have seen the sennheisers used on toms and snares before and they sound pretty great imo!

I'm recording into a Tascam US800 (no mic pre's unfortunately, just the inbuilt ones) into Reaper, windows 7 :)

Any help will be appreciated :)
Thanks!

Edit:Sorry, I didn't really say very clear, what I meant was: which mic should I assign to each drum? I can have up to 6 :)

Hi, thanks for the input :) do you know how the sennheiser works with the kick? or as overheads? (These are my hardest to think of where to put the mics lol).
