Signal Looping

Hey All.

I am using a Mackie 24 channel board connected in to a PC running Cakewalk Music Creator 2002. Sound Card is a SoundBlaster LIVE!

I am taking a line out of the board from the Tape Out area. I am getting a nice clean signal.

However, when I send a playback signal to the board in one of the channels, it loops.

What is the proper way to connect this all so I can leave the line out from the board to the PC, and the Line in from the PC to the board for monitoring?

That depends on what you're recording. If only one or two tracks (sources) at a time, I'd use the channel inserts or channel direct outputs to drive the input of the soundcard and I'd recover it in two unused channels as well. That way you can't set up a loop.
