I use mine to record Live Rock bands in some very small rooms and have no problems with Vibration. Any problem is likely to be with structurally transmitted and not Air Vibration so if in doubt just rest the HD24 on a Foam cushion

I can tell you that the factory supplied HD is more prone to the vibration problems than some of the other brands. I bought an IBM HD and haven't had any problems with it.

The error that occurs reads; underflow error, HD too slow. Alesis said that it possibly could be a defective drive...., I don't have the problem unless I am in the room with the amp cranked. I like natural power tube distortion thats why the high volume.

Recording right next to a drumkit gave me no problems.

I need to upgrade the software too....I hear that fixes some bugs. I think the latest is 1.04

By the way, the Sound Forge thing works well enough. I just pretty much use it for any editing now.

I had used Sound Forge for all of my editing before I switched over to the HD24. So when I started to use the HD24, I continued to use Sound Forge, so I never knew about the "header" issue.

I never used the Hard Drive that came with my unit, I immediately bought something more reliable (and bigger).

Are there any other issues I should know about. I know the Alesis helpless line works fine.
