Should I Buy an Echo Layla?

I have been looking around on this topic for a bit but have nothing that addresses my set up specifically.

I have been thinking about buying a MOTU 2408 mkII for a while but have recently started eyeing the Layla 24 bit thingy. It is lots cheaper.

I am using Samplitude 6.0 producer w/ a 550 Mhz Pentium III. I have been using my ADAT XT as A/D converters into the ADAT Edit card for tracking. I would like to continue using the ADAT as and extra set of converters but I have rently aquired a DBX 386 which has the S/PDIF output.

My question is this:

Does anyone know of any problems using the analog, S/pdif and the ADAT input simultaniously?

Is this even possible w/ this card? I mean realistically I doubt I would ever have to use the all simutainiously but it would be nice to know I could.

Do tell!

You can't use ADAT and S/PDIF at the same time -- only one set of digital ins can be used at a time, although you can use the analog ins at the same time.

Other than my recent problem combining the Mona and the Layla EXP, I've been very happy with the Echo audio products. If you don't need to use ADAT and S/PDIF at the same time, I think you'll be very satisfied.

i have a mona and i like it very much. never had a single problem with it. the windows drivers are very mature and very stable imo. haven't used the adat interface but i have used the sp/dif and it works fine.

i have no experience with MOTU cause all of the negative posts on them scared me away from buying from them.
