should I buy a condenser mic

hello to everyone
Since I have no other choice than recording in the same room in which my computer is running, I use a dynamic mic (sm-58) and a noise gate when recording vocals. I use to put a lot of fx and special eqs in the vocals, so the result is more or less acceptable.

I'm constantly reading about the virtues of condenser mics, and about their extreme sensitivity too. Should I keep using dynamic, since I won't be able to run a condenser mic in an isolate room? If I go condenser, I was thinking about buying a samson. would it be a not specially bad choice?

actually, any kinda advice about any kinda thing would be a great help

condensors being more sens will likely pick up more noise.
but demo a bunch.
consider sriously running the tower in another area with cable extensions. this what a lot do.

You could try to make your PC a bit quieter, if that's what's stopping you from using a condenser mic.

Two dynamic microphones that have strong "condenser-like" sound are the Beyer M88 and the Sennheiser 441.
Both reject ambient noise better than even a SM58.

My understanding is that it is normally better to gate vocals during mixing vs. initial tracking, assuming it's needed BTW.

I quite often record vocals in the same room as my computer and it produces quite acceptable results.

Rather than the Sampson mic look at a Studio Projects B1 - its similarly priced.

Look at some outboard gear with expanders, they can effectively mute the noise in low music areas Safe sound P1 has a great one, Focusrite VMP too

I've already moved and covered my computer with some old pillows, leaving some space for ventilation. I don't know how will I be able to open the cd tray, but it's quieter now.
I've also read about some condenser mics picking more ambience noise than others. My hearing capabilities are similar to those of a brick, and at the shop i can't tell special differences between one or another, besides not being as comfortable as my room is. do you have any suggestions about any condenser mics less sensible to ambience noise?

I'll take a look at these studio projects and beyer anyways
