Need help!
Having a great time recording tracks for the first time...just wild!
I have a question that concerns cabling-routing:
Picture my desk, I have a Shure Mic (dynamic) plugged into the 1st XLR jack on a cheapo Behringer 602 mixer. From "Main Outs", two short 1/4" cables run over to my Delta 44 breakout box "Line In 1&2".
Then, from "Out 1&2", two 1/4" cables run to my powered monitors, ending in RCA connectors.
When I record, I have to reach behind my monitors and turn the sound off, or turn off the sound feed from Delta's Monitor Mixer.
When I add a track, I have to run a dinky set of headphones from the back of the monitors (1/8") to hear my cues in the song.
In other words....I have no control of the signal going to the monitors nor can I use the 1/4" headphone jack on the mixing board.
How SHOULD I have cabled this set-up?...Seems to me the breakout box should feed back to the mixer...THEN out to the monitors...but how?
Thanks for a detailed description in advance!!
