I play metal. Im trying to go for a Metallica tone.
 
How is this one better than the Schecter,im not being a smart ass im just asking :D

I think my money would be on the Schecter. Overall I'd say Jackon are a better brand but for what you want, I think the Schecter would be better suited. The body is basswood...thats perfect for your power chords and low-string riffs (For whom the bell tolls, etc). You'll probably want to crank the treble on the Randall to get the highs the way you want them, but if you're after metallica tone you'll probably abandon the mids on the OD channel entirely anyway. The guitars are quite similar...depending on the manufacturers, some cheaper guitars (no offence) can have sloppy inlay; by which i mean there will be cavities routed in the frets that serve no real purpose. I dont own a schecter but it might be worth reading up on reviews of their finishes and decal. The guitars are similar, though the schecter has has a floyd rose licensced trem...go easy on it or you'll be in a world of pain regards tunings and your saddles! The Jackson seems to have an in-house replica, but I'd say the two are similar. The main difference is frets. Basically if you wanna solo like Kirk you need the extra frets; The schecter is more super-strat like, and you cant really tackle the Puppets solo on anything less than 22....so for tapping and shred solos, the more frets the better.
 
well I liked the schecter cus its affordable,it has 25 frets and EMG pick ups! o and the floyd rose!! thats around the price range i can afford,if anyone knows of anything better for a metal band tell me PLEASE :D its ok if its off by a 100 to 200 dollars

o and any other suggestions will be cool!
 
well if all you play is metal i'd suggest an esp in your price range.
 
Hmmm ESP...what do you think about Dean? is that a good option?
