shockmounts for SP C4's

Winner chicken dinner!
I went to record drums today. First one didn't fit the mic, and then unbeknownst to me, the shockmount screw on is smaller than all my mic stands! I ended up having to tape my shockmounts to my stands! Is this normal, are you supposed to buy different mic stands or booms for condensers or something???

Take a coin and screw the 3/8'' <-> 5/8'' thread adapter out of there.
 
Do as Christiaan says in terms of attatching them to the mic stands.

According to Alan Hyatt the first batch of shockmounts were not all that great, and this problem has since been corrected. If you contact Alan at Studio Projects he will ship you some new ones for free, at least that's what he did for me.

He did the same for me too although I haven't had a chance to use the new mounts yet. While waiting for the new mounts, I found the perfect stools to place the mics on to record acoustic guitar.

I also didn't understand the smaller screws in the first pair but the new ones Alan sent didn't come with them.

Good mics though and great service from Alan.
