Shock mounts

Does anybody have any ideas on how to make effective, good-looking shock mounts. I have an AKG c1000s and a RODE NT1 and I don't really feel like paying $50 or more for shockmounts. I understand that it's probably easy to make them, but I just can't think of where to get the parts. Maybe someone has some good experiences/ideas. Thanx.

They look good, and they are cheap;
but I have NOT seen them in person.
