look for inspiration. don't just let it find you. watch people, facial expressions, thier emotions, (NOT EMO!). :D You decide what to take from it.

Humm a melody that fits your tune. Do not get attached to a line or phrase until it all works with the music/feel of the song.

Songs are not written in one sitting... hold on to every idea you have, and bring em back.

automated song writing? the idea of it makes me queasy.
Tools cant write songs for us Nicole. But they can make the collection job much easier. Would you call having a thick dictionary on your table a way of automating your songwriting? Guess not. A Thesaurus? Nope.
When you need to find all words that rhymes on the word "see" (thats 360 at least) you can do it two ways. You can can spend an afternoon digging, or you can ask masterwriter to find them for you in 0.4 seconds.
Im very serious about my lyrics. Thats why I bought Masterwriter.
Beleive me, it´s as far from automated songwriting as it gets.
But it is automated gathering of information yes. Just as a google search is.
Good luck making music.

Try skipping rhyme and match syllables instead..only rhyme on the hook... :)

master writer is lame, the third party registration is a joke.
type a word in, wow im a fuckin song writer.
thats like buying a casio and hitting the waltz button.
look mama, I can play the fuckin piano.
hey baby I wrote you a song last night.
I typed," I love you baby" into the master (lameass) writer
and I tells me how I feel for you, in this gay ass copied song.
you must be a very potential song writer to use masterwriter.

I can't imagine a songwriting situation in which I'd ever need to know all 360 words that rhyme with "see". Ambergris, kimchi, and muscular dystrophy aren't really themes that appear much in my work; possibly because I write lyrics instead of "rhymes".

BURN!

Seriously though I would have to agree at least a bit. Lyrical ideas should dictate rhymes, not vice versa. There are more than a few wonderful songs without terribly obvious rhyme schemes.

Well I can imagine many songwriting situations (and have been in them) where my lyrics get better by knowing more than the first 4 rhymes to the word "see" that I can come up with. But this is just a fraction of what masterwriter helps me with. English isn´t my native language, so for me it´s a great tool.
Rhymes is just a small part of masterwriter.
If you wan´t to go check it out, the URL is there.
Enough said.
Cheers.

Thanks for saying you´re sorry.

A tip... hmmm...

Try writing the song from someone elses perspective, what they are seeing/ feeling, even if their oppinion of the situation differs from yours, try to talk about how you tihnk they might feel.

Bonus:
The best subject matter:
Life.

another one from me:

write what you know. don't try to write about things you've never done/felt/experienced. instead write about what you have done/felt/experienced. it will add a whole level of realisim to your writing.
