Some hardware as well as software reverbs have built in sidechaining or EQ filters. Don't know what reverb you are using, but if it has any "filters" or sidechain, or EQ options, you can set it within the plug-in (if that's what you are using). And yes, apply it only to the reverb, not the entire track.

GZ- sorry for the slow resonse. I have a Lexicon reverb/echo component. No sidechain options on it.

Ok, then send it to a bus like others have suggested. EQ down or filter out the sibilant frequencies and then hit the reverb unit.
