I currently own a pair of Event 20/20's for my main "outboard" setup. I have recently set up a small "digital" setup with my computer and need another pair of monitors for general listening and editing on the computer. At the same time I would like them to be something that will compliment the Events so I can use both pairs in my main setup when doing more serious mixing.
My first thought is that I need to pick up something smaller because my computer desk isn't very large. At the same time smaller drivers would give me a very different outlook on a mix compared to the Events 8" drivers. OK so here is the catch.....
I want to buy used and they don't have to be powered but it would be nice. Im not looking to spend very much money either. I see the Alesis mk'1s or whatever they were called selling on ebay for right around 100 bucks for a pair. Is there anything else that might be older and usable that is selling for cheap? I think my GF is going to pick me up a pair for christmas if the price is reasonable.
Remember that this is not my main pair of reference monitors so they don't have to be outstanding but at least usable. Any suggestions?

Well I doubt that I will find any Whardales readily available used. Im just looking for something cheap (right around $100 bucks slightly more maybe) to use for the moment. How much are the wharfdales new?

Ah, I think Deepwater is selling them for $275 to HR.com members.

Yeah deepwater quoted me a good price on the smaller Wharfdale actives. The price is still a little bit higher than what I would ask someone to spend on me for christmas so I may just have to buy them a little later myself.
