bought a beaautiful pair of Yorkville YSM1p's last weekend from a brick and mortar around here. No hassles and the store had them on sale for $100 off the pair. QUOTE]

glad to hear your online with monitors finally!
i read your threads and am assuming these were
your main monitors,
not like some that have full access
to a bank and can float
$300-400 without a care.

Yorks are highly praised around here by some that have good
comparison inputs...never heard any of the QC issues either.

i bought a China-TASCAM 2488 and it was nerve racking as there are
the same severe QC issues as the China-Wharfs....
piece of sht vs. frinkin awesome.
i got lucky but it was a bad "logically minded" decision.

for example, the Yammie AW16G/2416etc..
having near zero QC issues...like the Yorks.

good move!!!

Yes sir, I am very happy with the Yorks, and the deal I got on them. The Wharfs were supposed to be my main monitors, and no I definitely could not afford to float the $450 CDN that the Wharfs came to including shipping. With PayPal's fees and the change in the value of the Canadian dollar February and April I ended up losing $45-$50 on the transaction, which is a shame, but what can you do? Now that school is out for the summer my poor ass can get back to working for the man... yeehaw!

Has Anyone Had Any Luck?

I spoke too soon last month when I said Deepwater had taken care of my Wharfie problem. I was supposed to receive a replacement in five days and, almost a month later, nothing.

And the guy hasn't responded to my email. I know he's a busy guy, but this is ridiculous. I've got a project to finish.

good luck, not gonna happen.
it's been over four months for me, and my second speaker still hasn't arrived from him.
i threatened him with a full chargeback a while ago and he gave in and sent me my other speaker, finally. it's in the mail, apparently. we'll see in a day or two.
this has happened THREE TIMES before though, and the shipping tracking will mysteriously stop mid-shipment. so i'm not exactly optimistic about what will happen this time. ugh.

Well, I just heard from Deepwater, who apologized for the mix-up and says he's sending out the replacement today. He gave me a tracking number.

So I guess he's trying. God knows, I know how tough it can be to juggle time.

Anyway I look at it, there is absolutely no excuse:( It has been WAY too long to have just been busy.

I'm sorry for all the problems some of you are having....

I was ready to fire up the PayPal engines and order a set from him right when these reports of problems started...

I'm glad now that I didn't send him any money... Regardless of how many 'satisfied' customers he has, the ratio of unresolved problems and issues these past few months totally offset them in my opinion...

Not worth the discount he's offering...

for me i wouldnt say its the ratio so much as its the fact that I'm scared of not seeing a return on 300 bucks.

Deepwater seems to labouring under the idea that he is unable to send new monitors out until FedEx have replaced damaged ones. If he's running a real business, he needs to send the new ones straight out as soon as the old ones have been sent back, and he has to take the cash-flow hit til FedEx sorts itself out.

That's what customer care is.

gidge..you ordered from him too? ....for a second there it was quiet and i thought the problem had been solved
