Aw, come on Bruce, so would you say that the summing, as well as the built in channel EQ's and Dynamics on the Behringer DDX3216 digital mixer are on par with those in your Sony console? (after all, it's just mathematics being applied to digital data, right?)

LOL!
I've been using SAWStudio (full version) for about a year and a half now and have NO regrets whatsoever about the money spent, it's about as close to using a "real" hardware recorder/mixer/effects setup as I've ever seen in software, the way SAW works certainly "clicked" with me. One of the main things for me is SAW's stability when overdubbing at extremely low latency, using input monitoring with real-time effects, while also playing back a full on 20 plus track mix with EQ's, Dynamics, and effects. (on an H/P laptop, using the slow, "stock" internal HD).
There are demo's available for all versions, I would suggest that if you're seriously considering SAW that you try it, you'll need to learn some keystrokes for editing and manipulation of audio regions, there are online tutorials at the website, there's also a forum.

The support that Bob Lentini gives is the absolute BEST I have ever encountered, in the year and a half since I've moved to SAWStudio he has updated the program at least TWENTY TIMES, for FREE, when he can duplicate a bug, he's ON IT!, every now and then he charges about 100 dollars for a major update, but there have been quite a few new features added to the program in the 20 updates I've gotten, some of them fairly major, seriously, this support is like nothing else!
