No _ I'm not really saying that at all... I said HIGH-QUALITY S/W.... I don't believe manufacturers of budget gear have ever spent any time properly designing their gear.... cheap gear uses cheap components and budget designs (out of economic necessity, otherwise they make the products as cheaply as they charge).... high-end gear & S/W pay attention to design and internal architecture. You can always reverse-engineer cost to get an idea of the relative effort a manufacturer placed in their product... ie, once you strip away a certain amount of profit, and name-brand value, you're left with what it took a company to manufacture a product -- so is $1500 s/w comparable to a $20K console? No... is a $2000 Behringer console comparable in any way to a $20K console? Again, no... Is $100 s/w comparable to $1500 s/w? Again, not likely, since clearly more R&D dollars were spent on design/archtecture in the higher-priced s/w..........Strryder said:Aw, come on Bruce, so would you say that the summing, as well as the built in channel EQ's and Dynamics on the Behringer DDX3216 digital mixer are on par with those in your Sony console? (after all, it's just mathematics being applied to digital data, right?)LOL!
