saw some used monitors...

Went to mars and guitar center during lunch today to see what was on clearance and play some guitars (Martin has this koa hd-28 keb mo signiture dreadnought for $3000 that I am falling in love with) and noticed two pairs of used monitors. Both listed at $199/pair. One pair were yamaha ns10's, one were Tannoy PBM 6.5's. Assuming I hooked them up and they sounded fine, should I jump on either of these? I know they are both highly touted as cheep monitors around here, anyone know what they are worth used? And if anyone is around Towson, I SAW THEM FIRST DAMMIT!

The NS10m's will need power, not sure about the Tannoys. I have the NS10m's and love em but that is a hotly debated topic. Do a search and you will see a big monitor discussion from a couple weeks ago.

yes, I think they both need power. I know monitors are a big issue around here, and just to clarify, I am not looking for another this vs that thread. There are plenty of monitors threads to go around. All I need to know is if anyone has some experience with what these should go for used.

If you're new at this, my understanding is the ns10's are harder to use if you don't have an easily trainable, (or developed) ear.
