with respect you would do better recording as many tracks and types of acts as possible and really understanding audio engineering.
i'm still trying after many many years. it takes work and dedication.
also read up on the "greats" of the recording industry like bill putnam and owen bradley. youll learn a lot. read up on the record plant.
lots of info on the net. read up on the history of the great rupert neve and many others. understand "the roots" of the industry and the pioneers.
7.1 is just mixing to discreet channels. lots of info on the net.

Hey I also repect what you are saying and I'm saying I want to do any serious mixing in 7.1. I was just curious and would like to just investigate. I know I have a lot to learn and I intend to.
As for the net I know there is a lot of info there but I've been unable to find any info on software that can do 7.1. I mostly just get soundcard results.
Please don't misinterpret my questions as me trying to jump the gun and do what I know is totally out of my league.
