I am thinking about getting a DI for my bass.

Anybody have experiance with the
SansAmp Bass Driver 3-channel programmable DI or
SansAmp Bass Driver DI.

The 3 channel is onlt $10 more. What can it do that the other one can't.
My other option is a Behringer Bass V-Amp pro.... :D :D

i've only used the sansamp gt-2 (which i used on bass too), but the bass sansamps have a great reputation on many boards and seem to be in use by many-- try searching them on tapeop or other mb's and feel the love.
another dirty alternative is the behringer sansamp knockoffs... here's one now:

i'm definitely not going to pimp or get on a soapbox for behringer (i already feel like i need to take a shower), but i gots limited funds and even though i already have a bass pod and a hartke kickback 12, i'm considering one of those things-- $35 or so. i have one of their tube screamer knockoffs and i wish i could say it's shite, but...

I use the Sansamp RBI, The rack mount version of the bass driver.
It kills. My understanding is that the 3 channel version just lets you save 3 different tones. Probably great for live playing.

i think the three channel one gives you the ability to store settings (the 3 channels), whereas the driver di doesn't

I also use a SansAmp Bass Driver DI.
Thumbs way up.
Either unit will make you happy.

Sans Amp bass driver DI here as well and I love mine just as much. Fantastic for the money. I'd really love to save a few hundred though and get one of those Avalon DI's. Their not that expensive really..like five hundred or something. I did a live gig this past weekend and a guy had one and it was amazing. Even on a not so amazing bass.

I have the bass driver DI and I love it. Like was mentioned, the only difference between the driver DI and the programmable is the fact that you can save 3 patches for stage use.

I won't record without it anymore.

I had one of the bass DI's, but gave it to whyseye, as she needed something. Worked pretty well, but didn't give me all the amp mods I wanted for what I do.

If I get a SansAmp (or dogman gives me one :D ) Will I be better off playing my bass into it in passive mode and not using the active electronics.

I'm sure somebody will respond back with "whatever sounds best" :D

Whatever sounds best... :p

Mine bass is passive, so I have no clue.... :D

I have the bass driver & if I were to do it again I'd definitely get the new 3 channel unit. Metalhead is right, if you're doing any live stuff scratch up a few more bucks & get the switchable unit.

the bassist from stone temple pilots used a SansAmp Bass Driver DI on the No. 4 album, and that has one of the best bass tones i've ever heard.
