yes thats what i thought but everyone was saying "you could of got a better mic for the money", thats correct but it wouldnt of had the same spec.

yeah but sometimes you might sacrifice the multi-pattern capability for better sound quality. but if you really need the mutli-pattern mic, then it is indeed the cheapest mic for the price!

although technically with a 19mm capsule it's not quite "large diaphragm condenser" sized...

oh btw what setting on my phantom power unit should i set it to?????? 12v or 48v im sure its 48, just makeing sure though, also what happens to the sound if selected wrong.

48v. if it was wrong, it would either give you no sound at all, or just greatly diminished sound/performance.

Set it to 48v.

Using a lower voltage would lower the sensitivity of the mic, make the output quieter, and also decrease the signal to noise ratio.

Either all of those, or it would just not work. I know that a Neumann U87 will not work below 44v (or maybe it's below 42v).

It wouldn't do any damage to anything though, running at too low a voltage.

48V. Set on 12V, it would likely not work at all.

just my .02 but I don't think that you really NEED an omni or figure 8. wanting one is cool but I would have put my money into something that did it's one pattern acceptably well rather than one that did three next to unusably so...


but in recording you live and learn. Have fun recording with it either way. When you get a better mic you will understand...

yeah i agree, i knew it wasnt gonna be great but im sure ill learn alot from using it which will most likely lead to buying futre mics.
