I downloaded sample tank, went through the process of installing and downloading the authorizer. Whatever, took hours. So annoying. Now I've finally got it running in garage band but there are no instruments and is completely useless.

I searched youtube and someone from IK (the company that makes ST) said you have to download the sounds separately, then what the hell did I just download 500 megs of?!?!

Hard drive search shows nothing besides the exe file and the installer. Please help or recommend something I can use to write bass parts or drum parts using a mouse. that's all i really want. HOLY CRAP!

Hi man,
Sample tank is particularly annoying, with all the registration & all for free stuff.

But there is a sounds library that you need to download as well, I think it's on the same page as the app

it says on the page there somewhere?

at least you you got it registered, I tried for ages & gave up in the end, I still get the nag screen when I do anything with it

it not very costomer friendly, there's loads of gripes about it on other forums!

GOOD LUCK! :(

Hey, you're right there is a separate download. I managed to get it to work. There are tons of sounds! A lot are terrible but you can make your own and there are lots of modifiers, should be fun but I really just wanted to get something to make composition a little easier. I'll still be recording the same way, unless I go radiohead all of a sudden!

I'm trying to figure out how to get the instrument file on my old Sample Tank cd to the downloaded and installed Sample tank i have in Reaper. I havent used it before . No idea what it is all about other than playing with the thing and getting no sound.

You have to point S/T to where the sound files are with the import button;
sample tank.webp
in my limited experience this is not an easy machine to work, very good, but fussy!

good luck

Hey I got it working , so how do I get rid of that hellish red orange screen ? I found MOTUS yesterday and am thinking a full sized midi keyboard to use with their software is the way to spend wisely. I have a Roland RS 70 as I said. It seems it has 7 channels open for additional programming patches . Old that it is it still has worth.

Just to the right of the delete buttons in the pic above there's 3 knobs col/lum/sat, they are the buttons to adjust the colors etc.
ENJOY :guitar:
Thanks , its always something , I downloaded Quick time to view MOTUS demo vids and my system is now quirky. If I could now resolve the issue with Scala my Keyboard related worries would be eased.

Can't help there sorry! :(

I wouldn't have bothered with ST on this computer, but some of the sounds are pretty good for free(Stick, etc.), so I went through the whole mess again. Every couple years, it's sorta like a colonoscopy, without the nurses.
