Sample of a pk21 beat

simple darkness- fitting name. i felt like i was waiting for it to do something percussion wise. some hihats or shakers. other than that its cool. i hate synth brass though.

smooth low key- didn't like this track that much. it was boring. i think it needs some more elemants to it. the bass sound is weak. the snare needs some effects.
 
Cool, jus wanted some guidence/opinions. Thanx. For you or anyone, when you are making a beat and you realize the bass part is not full enough, do you just use a different bass, or use compression?
 
it depends. sometimes the bass is all wrong. but if its good but not thick enough, try layering it. if its a sample you can filter it till its heavy with bass and layer it with the original
 
Cool I will have to mess around with it. i made those beats on the Roland's mc-909, I haven't really determined what all the good basses are to use yet, but thanx for your help, peace, pM
