Frequent use of reference recordings, IME, is invaluable. It's a matter of reference points, not absolutes. But bass trapping can solve a lot of low end emphasis monitoring issues, which may be happening here.

I built bass traps and mid absorbers 3 years ago, thereabout, based upon my own analysis and calculations of my room as a result of absorbing all the relative reference material available at John Sayer's site.

At that time, there was a definite improvement.

Something has changed since then.

I fear it's my own ears.

What difference does it make how many years HangDawg has been here? For someone who says "not really my fight", Chris, you appear eager to jump on HangDawgs bandwagon to criticize a collabration amongst friends that True and I share in common. Everyone is free to say what they will about about me, my lack of talent, mixing skills, etc. I do not, however, appreciate the negative commentary toward the folks who collaborated with me on this song. It was a collaboration amongst friends and nothing more than that.

You're losing crediblity by the day here, Chris, especially when you refuse to leave well enough alone and bring Cave crap and anomosity to the Clinic.

I really can't comment about whether or not HangDawg has made positive contributions for the past 6 years. I've only been here for 4 years and I don't read every post and I admit I rarely contribute anything of worth. I can only respond to the negativity within his posts within this thread.

Fair enough. If Dragon chooses to remove True's link to a less than appropriate thread within The Clinic, Dragon should also consider deleting HangDawgs posts in the interest of maintaining a degree of civility and maturity within The Clinic.

This is MY thread.

I began it and I can close it with a single stroke on the keyboard if the negativity continues. I'd rather not be forced to do that.

I's much rather just leave well enough alone and allow the thread to continue.

This thread isn't just about the song in and of itself.

It's about a song, friendships, rooms, hearing loss, and last but not least...

Llarion's and Lemontree's mixing efforts have yet to be completed or heard.

I have my doubts about what they can do with the individual altered tracks I gave them, but I'm also an optimist.

All I'm asking of everyone is to wait.

It's made me better. None of it has been as venomous as what you attract though because I'm not an instigating douchetard like you have turned into lately. My first recordings were ass. Hell, they still are, but I don't seem to have people cherishing the opportunity to destroy my songs. I get useful feedback and I use it. How would you know anyway? You never listen to or comment on the 40-or-so songs I've posted in here, so shut the fuck up about what I do. Anyway, this isn't really about "stroking". You're gonna get stroked by your friends from time to time. Your mix is bad. That's all I'm saying. Hopefully someone can get it turned around because I'd like to hear it.

I know you're being sarcastic, but the truth is that this part of the site is kind of a sacred cow to me. Just about all of my "counted" posts come from the clinic, and I don't tend to fly off the handle in here because I don't want to scare newbs off. This is the part of the site that attracts new people first, and threads like this one are a severe deterrent to kids and other amateurs who are just getting into recording. I don't want some grandmother telling me to suck her dick, and I don't like seeing posts like Hang Dawg's or Greg's, for that matter. I mean, don't get me wrong, I may agree with every word, but I just personally feel this is the wrong place for it. I wish we could keep the shit-slinging out of here. For the love of God, it's not the mic forum.
