Okay...

Spent 6 hours chasing a fuzzy distortion in one of my Delta 44 set-ups. I was able to find info on M-Audio's forum about using an older driver with those when running XP on your machine. At least I can record a clean signal now, right?

Still, something happened during the numerous shut-down's and power-up's today. Somehow...I managed to disengage Windows Media.

Usually, when I've rendered a song to an mp3, I play it in Windows Media. I tried that after recording a quick tune and wasn't able to get any sound out of it. Seems like it was playing, though.

Have I missed something?

Also i have found with some programs such as older guitar pro version and older versions of reaper it mutes the wave output when the program closes

XP had issues with two Delta 44's being installed. Even used the next to most-recent driver which handled two cards better.
However, that computer started acting buggy. The wife & I decided to replace it with a more current model (Asus desktop, Intel i5 processor & 1 TB HD). Gonna stay with one Delta 44 for now. Might upgrade to a Delta1010 if I find one for the right price.

Gonna set up the XP box again to move over some amp sims soon. Might just run the second Delta 44 on it still, or keep it as a known-good spare...or sell it. Who knows?
