I need to get 2 mics routed through one XLR cable and then have it split again while maintaining a separate single for each mic. Will this work?
I'm pretty sure once the mics are routed through one cable there is no unrouting it. Take a look at the diagram. I just randomly choose the MXL mics.

I don't think it would work.
What's holding you back from just running two XLR cables?

I am going to use two mics to record audio for a Movie project I'm working on. I have the two mics on a wired boom pole. I don't think two mic cables will fit through the boom pole, so I am looking for a way to use one XLR cable as a dual mono cable.

You really have no business touching anything that uses electricity.

I know, dumb question. I'll delete this thread now.
